Sonatrach seeks firms for compressor stations
June 21, 2016
Sonatrach, Algeria’s state energy company, is seeking firms to build six compressor stations as part of a multi-billion dollar project aimed at pumping more gas from new southern fields in North Africa.
The project looks to expand and build compression and pumping stations, as well as pipelines, in the next four years for the North African OPEC state. The six compressor stations are expected to cost US$1 billion.
Sonatrach hasn’t designated any firms for the project, but it did identify 16 of them two years ago, including Bonatti, China Petroleum Pipelines, Technicas Reunidas and Techint Group.
