A new long-term service agreement with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) requires MAN Diesel & Turbo to build a service shop for turbomachinery repairs in Oman's capital Muscat. The comprehensive service contract signed between MAN Diesel & Turbo and PDO covers the long-term servicing of 50 turbocompressors in Oman.
Together with its local partner Oman Holdings International (OHI), MAN Diesel & Turbo is investing in the construction of a service shop which will strengthen the company's service capacity in Oman and the Middle East as part of a regionalization strategy.
In addition to consultancy services and spare parts provision, the service agreement also includes the long-term deployment of experienced MAN field service staff and local Omani staff on a permanent basis at various sites of PDO. As part of the workshop set-up, this will be supplemented by training and professional development of more Omani technicians. While continuing its successful partnership with OHI, MAN Diesel & Turbo also fulfills the requirements of the Oman In-Country-Value program, the company said. MAN Diesel & Turbo added, it will be the first original equipment manufacturer of turbomachinery to have its own local workshop in Oman, providing repairs for rotating equipment and other machinery.
